Online and Mobile Banking 

Access your accounts anytime from your personal computer with Provident Credit Union's free online banking. You'll have easy and secure access to your balances, statements, notifications, and these services:

Enroll online or if you're already enrolled, you can sign on from the home page or from the Online Banking menu in the upper left corner of any window of the Provident Web site.

Once you are enrolled in online banking, you can use mobile banking. This free service* is secure and easy to use on your phone, tablet, or other mobile device. Enjoy three great ways to bank:

Find Locations 

Provident has 19 branch locations—mostly around the Bay Area and one in Folsom. In addition, Provident members my use over 5,000 credit union branches nationwide that participate in the CO-OP Shared Branch network. Use Provident's Locations Map or Mobile Banking app to find a branch.

Like the Shared Branches, CO-OP's network of nearly 30,000 ATMs means you have more direct, surcharge-free access to your money than most traditional bank customers do. ATM terminals within the network can be found at many credit unions and select retail locations including 7-Eleven®, Walgreens, and Costco®.

To find the closest surcharge-free ATM near you, use Provident's Locations Map or Mobile Banking app, and make sure the "Surcharge Free" checkbox is checked.

That's not all. Provident members can use these networks surcharge-free:

Network Locations
Nearly 30,000 CO-OP Network ATMs nationwide (including over 5,500 ATMs in 7-Eleven stores). Provident deposits accepted at many of these locations.

Get ATM Fee Rebates

Want to avoid all ATM fees at any nationwide ATM? You can if you have a Provident Credit Union Super Reward Checking account. This free account pays high dividends and includes ATM surcharge rebates on third-party surcharges—up to $12.00 per month—at any nationwide ATM. So if you happen to use an ATM that charges a fee, we have you covered.

Payments and Transfers 

Save time, money, and hassle every month using Provident's online banking and automated transfer services.

Online Banking

You can use online banking to transfer funds between your Provident accounts, accounts outside of Provident, and to accounts of other Provident members. Access these services by clicking on the "Transfers" navigation link within online banking. Schedule one-time or recurring transfers.

  • Your Provident Accounts—Simply choose which accounts you want to transfer from and to, the amount, and when you want it to occur. Visa credit card payments can be scheduled by clicking on the gear icon next to the card name on the Summary of Balances page, and then click on "Visa Online Services."
  • External Accounts—To add your external account, go to the Transfers page within online banking and then to "Manage External Accounts." From there you can add accounts from banks, credit unions, or investment institutions. Once you have verified the amounts of a couple of small deposits we'll make to these accounts, you'll be able to transfer from or to these accounts at no extra charge. Your membership must be opened for 30 days to be eligible for this service.*
  • Cross Accounts—To transfer funds from your Provident accounts to another Provident member account, complete and return this pre-authorization consent form [pdf].

Automatic Transfer

Have funds transferred automatically between your Provident accounts and accounts outside of Provident. Use it to stick to a safe investment plan, and avoid late payments and fees when you automate payments to your Provident loans.*

It's easy to set up and easy to change as your plans as priorities change. Just complete and return this form [PDF].

* This type of transfer is not immediate. Please schedule your transfer for at least three days before you need the funds to arrive.

Deposit Insurance

All Provident Credit Union deposits are federally insured to at least $250,000 per member (in addition to a separate $250,000 insurance for IRAs) by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a United States Government agency. This agency charters and supervises federal credit unions and insures savings in federal credit unions and most state-chartered credit unions across the country through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a federal fund backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government.
